Hallie Lou Blum (November 5, 1916-September 21, 2011) was a former HMI president. The book contains her nostalgic memories as a Madison youth during the 1920s and 1930s. She grew up on Highland Avenue between West High School on Regent and Lombardino's on University Avenue. Specially designed by graphic artist Amy Wencel to appeal to both older Madisonians and young children, the 92-page book is illustrated with contemporary photographs and newspaper ads.
