Public Programs
HMI invites the public to a couple of events per year. For example, in 2011 we offered a tour of the Memorial Carillon Tower with a concert, led by then HMI board member and carilloneur, Lyle Anderson. This was followed by a tour of the Washburn Observatory by Jim Latimer, followed by a viewing of Jupiter through the telescope. If you have an idea for a future event, please share it with a board member.
Our regular program offerings include the annual tour of Forest Hill Cemetery, usually in May, and the annual members meeting, featuring speakers on historical topics. Both are a great opportunity for prospective members to attend and see what we're all about.
We are also pleased to offer the popular Alternate Parade of Homes every other year, which features tours of renovated and restored homes in historic neighborhoods.
Check our web site for updates on what we'll be offering throughout the year. Or, join HMI and remain in the loop through our newsletter and emails.
